چکیده

Ontology revision is the process of managing an ontology when a new axiom or fact would render it inconsistent. So far, the AGM approach to belief revision has been adapted to work with ontologies. However, when multiple sources are contributing uncertain knowledge about a static domain, an approach that doesn’t give priority to incoming information and allows to recover previously discarded axioms is more suited. We describe an ontology revision framework that links symbolic and numerical techniques to allow the consistent evolution of an ontology from the contributions of multiple potentially unreliable sources.

Selective Revision by Deductive Argumentation

The success postulate of classic belief revision theory demands that after revising some beliefs with by information the new information is believed. However, this form of prioritized belief revision is not apt under many circumstances. Research in non-prioritized belief revision investigates forms of belief revision where success is not a desirable property. Herein, selective revision uses a t...

Credibility Limited Revision

Five types of constructions are introduced for non-prioritized belief revision, i.e., belief revision in which the input sentence is not always accepted. These constructions include generalizations of entrenchment-based and sphere-based revision. Axiomatic characterizations are provided, and close interconnections are shown to hold between the di®erent constructions. x

Modeling knowledge dynamics in multi-agent systems based on informants

In this paper we model knowledge dynamics in agents’ belief bases in a collaborative multiagent system. Four change operators are introduced: expansion, contraction, prioritized revision, and non-prioritized revision. For all of them, both constructive definitions and an axiomatic characterization by representation theorems are given. We formally justify minimal change, consistency maintenance,...

Source-Sensitive Belief Change

The AGM model is the most remarkable framework for modeling belief revision. However, it is not perfect in all aspects. Paraconsistent belief revision, multi-agent belief revision and non-prioritized belief revision are three different extensions to AGM to address three important criticisms applied to it. In this article, we propose a framework based on AGM that takes a position in each of thes...

Accommodative Belief Revision

Accommodative revision is a novel method of non-prioritized belief revision. The epistemic state of an agent contains both knowledge that is immune to revision and beliefs that are allowed to change. Incoming information is rst revised by the knowledge of the agent, and then the epistemic state of the agent is revised using this modi ed input. The properties of the method are studied and exampl...
